Best Buds Competition at The 420 Cruise

High Thai Weed won the Best Buds Competition at the 1-Year Anniversary of The 420 Cruise in Bangkok.

The winning strain was Orange Mimosa Punch — a hybrid we built in-house by crossing Mimosa with Orange Punch. It took the title against a field of Bangkok's growers, judged on the things that actually matter in a bud: nose, structure, trichome coverage and how it smokes.

We are proud of this one. It is not a badge we bought or a listing we paid for. It was won on a boat, in front of people who grow for a living.

The Strain That Won

Orange Mimosa Punch is sativa-dominant and tests around 30% THC — the strongest thing on our shelf.

The cross explains the profile. Mimosa brings the citrus lift and the bright, daytime clarity. Orange Punch brings weight, sweetness and a heavier finish. Together they make something that hits fast and stays social: uplifting, euphoric, talkative. It is a strain for the start of a night, not the end of one.

The nose is the first thing people comment on — sharp orange peel over something sweeter underneath. Dense buds, heavy frost, and a burn that stays clean because it was flushed properly.

What The 420 Cruise Is

The 420 Cruise is a Bangkok cannabis event held on the water. The Best Buds Competition is its centrepiece: growers bring their best flower, and it gets judged in the open, side by side.

Why It Matters

Bangkok has a lot of shops. Most of them are buying flower from someone else and putting a sticker on it.

We grow ours. Our growers work out of California and Germany, and the plants come up in our own room in Bangkok — which is why we can put the same strain in front of a judging panel that we put in a jar on the counter. There is no separate competition batch.

That is the whole point of the award, commercially. It says the flower on our shelf is the flower that won.

The Rest of the Shelf

Orange Mimosa Punch is the trophy, but it is not the only thing worth your time. Banana Daddy runs 25–30%, Big Ripper and Strawberry Glue sit at 26%, and Gorilla Glue is the one people ask for when they want the night over.
